Where the Heart lies

Where the heart lies,
With the ever changing idyllic colours of the sky,
The hungry lapping of the waters,
Cool sand beneath the gaps of your toes,
The soft lulling of the waves constantly traveling with you like the Marauders.
With every new face encountered is every new immeasurable experience,
Laughter abound under the stars shooting through, unfaltered,
The food devoured, beyond splendid,
In nature’s peace we had now blended.

First came the ambivalence, promptly followed by the thriving,
Then some catastrophe and thereafter some beholding,
Just a ride through nature’s sounds, smells and warmth healing the newfound blues,
Concerns floating away, venturing into bountiful green hues.
True to the beholding eye, the mind followed suit,
Another journey commenced with an unforeseen fruit.

But as the last dusk sets and all good things end one day,
Memories locked deep inside, here to stay.
Wondrous and enchanting, all senses touched,
A frisson of happiness caressing the soul,
This is where the heart lies.
